8x63?
« on: August 05, 2008, 01:21:39 PM »
I run across this round from COTW and Cartidge Convesions books.  After close inspection of this round, it appears to be mainly used in military applications in Nordic countries.  However, it also appears like it would make an excellent round for a wildcat or sport rifle conversion.  A year or so ago, someone kindly sent me 3 rounds to micrometer and personally inspect.  Has anyone out there any further info on this round or used one?  I'd be interested in the results.  I think this would be great wildcat necked up to .338 and should provide for about 15% more energy than the 338-06, a round with high respect already.
Greg lost his battle with cancer last week on April 2nd 2009. RIP Greg. We miss you.
