I find I prefer very light loads in my 45/70 and so am considering getting a .45 Colt barrel for my handirifle. In the faqs section I found the twist listed a 16" and that should be just fine for cast bullets of 300-350 grains at 1000 to 1300fps. My question is: what is the actual groove diameter of H&R .45 Colt barrels?

Here's my initial report on the 45 Colt barrel.

Thanks Tim, .452 sounds OK, though I don't much like the idea of it being 1/2 a thou larger at the muzzle, but then, as you said, it is an H&R, one really can't expect too much.
