NEF 20ga SB1
« on: August 13, 2008, 05:55:56 AM »
NEW GUY HERE ;D

I just got rid of my Mossberg 535 slug gun and am looking to get another.  I do have a NEF 20ga smooth bore that I am considering getting drilled and tapped for a scope.  I would put a red-dot on it.  I will never have the chance to take a shot over 50yds, so I think the smooth bore can handle it.  What do you guys think?

BTW: the drilling and tapping wouldn't cost me anything, the only cost would be the red-dot.

Thanks
adam

What is the bore on the 20ga if it's full choke I would cut the bore off but just about anything else will work fine .The smooth bores work excellant to about 60yrds or so and are a blast to shoot also the red dots work great with these setups. Kurt

It's a modified choke so I think it will be ok.

Thanks

Unless your dead set on a reddot out to 50yrds your gun could be very accurate as is . I'd shoot it to see but if you can get it drilled and tapped free you could also go with a peep at that yardage good luck. Kurt
