Any y'all have a Gaucho revolver?
« on: September 23, 2007, 05:51:30 PM »
Haven't seen anything much about the Gaucho.  I got one around the 1st of the year and I really love it.  Has 5 1/2" barrel and cch receiver and blued barrel.  I shoot reloads in it (250 gr laser cast on top of trail boss powder)  It is a light load but it shoots well in my Rossi 92 as well as my Gaucho.  Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that they are both 45 colt.  ;D

I just put one on layaway.  My post is 'target of opportunity' on the Single Action Forum.  When I get it home and have a chance to work with it, I'll post it on here also.  44 Man

I've got a Goucho in .45 colt. I love it. It shoots better than I do and the trigger is great. Very lite and smooth.

I find the Gaucho to be a really fun shooter.  It has become one of my favorite guns to shoot.  I really like the 45 colt chambering.  My gaucho is getting a lot of range time along with my Sig Revolution ttt and my Pedrersoli 45-70 rolling block.

CDNN is apparently blowing these out in all finishes and barrel lengths.  I keep thinking I need one... but then again, I think the same for about 200 other firearms.  ;)

Got a blue 7 1/2" from CDNN for $279.80 including shipping. Great shooter when you do not screw up reading the load Manuel and load for Ruger Freedom arms only loads. The only damage was to my hand, trigger finger knuckle and middle finger. Reloaded the ammo with aproprate loads and went and shot 100 rds this morning.

Well I did it.  I have a consecutive serial number pair of polished SS 5 1/2" Gauchos coming from CDNN for $300 apiece!  Hope to see them soon.  I'll keep you informed.  44 Man

Here they are!  I got them home last night.  I spent this morning fitting the stag grips to them that I had on the New Vaquero.  I think they turned out nicely!  44 Man

I got a chance to fire them Thursday.  I couldn't shoot for group but everything functioned fine and all of the bullets went where they were supposed to.

I got the 5.5 inch with the case hardened frame and love it!  That cylinder locks up as tight as any revolver I've handled, it shoots well and it shore is purdy!

Just got my third Gaucho home.  A used all blue 5 1/2" one and it shoots great!  Of course blue sights are easier to see than polished SS sights!  I've thought about cutting the barrel to 4" but haven't decided yet.  I always wanted a nice 4" gun.  I took an old pair of fake stag grips from Ajax that I never liked, thinned them and then cut a 'jigged bone' pattern into them and stained them.  That was fun and I think it sets it off nice.  Keep shooting!  44 Man

Then I went ahead and played with the stock grips and made a '3:10 to Yuma' set!  Those grips are not just plastic, they seem to be a very hard industrial nylon and I don't think anyone could ever break a pair in any kind of 'normal' use including dropping the gun.  But it turned out nicely.  A couple of hours with a dremel to inset the cross and some epoxy glue.  44 Man

Oh!  And it is an excellent shooter too!
