Anticipation Season.....
« on: August 16, 2008, 03:55:17 AM »
has begun. I have come to love August as the time when you get those first few glimpses of fall with some cool, clear nights and even a few changed leaves. The anticipation of what this fall will bring is as exciting as the fall hunting itself. Signs of anticipation season for me are:

- cool, clear nights
- turning leaves
- replaced the black hole target with the 3D deer for more realistic practice shooting
- hunting licenses are on sale
- expenditures on all things outdoors increase, along with the friendly arguments with my wife about how much money I am spending!
- probably several other I can't think of at the moment........

My sentiments match yours pretty much...My neighbor's oak tree has just begun dropping acorns in to my yard...The squirrels are having a field day.  Time to reduce their numbers as they are digging up my grass...

Hey Whitetailer,

That's only a few short weeks away. I haven't done much squirrel hunting over the last few years, but my son just passed his hunter ed class and turned 12 last week so I'll be doing that with him this September. The only dilemma will be whether to go for squirrels or geese in September!
