TJ and Dans Elk hunt
« on: September 15, 2008, 04:42:36 PM »
Well we just got back.I found out I was in alot better shape then TJ. We seen 8 shootable bulls but we couldnt get close enough. All the Elk were above timberline and it will wear you out just getting there. On Saterday night we had a forsure thing. It took us 5 hours to go 14000 feet and when we got up there there was a muzzle loader hunter up there also and he was showing us how great a bulger he was and the elk never showed back up.We had a great time and never got into it one time so it was a good hunt with no meat on the table

Well, that's why it's called hunting, no guarantees except the outdoor experience!  ;D

Sorry to hear there was no meat , that happems sometimes when you go after them with a stick and a string .  ;D

Sounds like TJ needs to get his butt on a Treadmill , maybe you could hook up one at the plant and he could help power the place while he gets in shape for next time .  ;)

Glad you had a good time and everyone came home safe and sound .

You had fun,and thats what counts, plus you did'nt have to carry any game out on your back. Now get yourself down here, and help me catch these strippers, and kill these hogs.   Digger

I will presume you want to catch Stripers, but catching Strippers could be just as much fun.  Larry

Digger I want to come down the next long weekend I get.Strippers hogs and stripers sound fun.I will save some elk steaks as I get to go back in Dec. on a deperdation hunt for a cow with a gun. Cows taste better anyway. If I could shoot the bow 200yrds I would have had me several big bulls.Maybe next summer I will practic on parrie rats with it.I think I could give Fuzz and Stimpy a run for there money.

Dano,

If you and Digger need an extra boat,  I can come down that way and help out. I have a perfect Striper boat (Thats what all the girls tell me)

Tell me where and when, and I will see if I can make it.  Have a couple of weekends already booked in October. Sure would be fun to see everyone again!

Let me get the back of the jeep cleaned out.  Momma has already said that she thinks hog hunting would be better.  She won't try p-dog fritters  ::)  but she likes bacon and ham.

Is it any cooler this time of year than the p-dog shoot?

Man, I would have given anything to just make it out there and see those elk.  Maybe some day.  The important thing is that you got to get out there and see God's beautiful work and enjoy some time away from the hectic world.  Good luck in Dec.
