I have every intention of going this year. It will be my first year trying for the gray rockets. I will have to use a TWRA lease field, but that's what they are there for. I will just have to wait and see what all this rain this close to the season will do.

For me TN is up not down since I'm in Bama. What part of the state you in?

Sure, if you don't mind hunting a state field!  Come on up!

What state field are you hunting? I usually hunt AEDC but they didn't plant any fields there this year. They did plant Bark Camp Barrens in Manchester. I may head there. I am hoping I get invited to go with the same group I hunted with last year. However, I am not sure if they have any corn fields cut yet. They have beans in the field we hunted last year.

Either the Casandra Smith field or the Vandergriff field in Hamilton county.

However, my buddy got an invite to a private field......so I'm hopeful to hunt it with him......

I just got back a couple hours ago. Did pretty good considering I'm a dove noob. I got 13, but I gave one away. There was a older gentleman about 60-70 yards to my left. He was plugging away, but hadn't hit anything. One came over and he fired a second before I did. It looked like he shot several feet behind it, but when it fell he looked at me and asked "Did I hit it?". I said "You sure did. Great shot!!". He acted like a kid at Christmas retrieving that bird. I asked if he wanted any of mine before I left but he declined.

It took 3/4's of the first box to get my lead down, but after that it was off to the races. I now wonder why I waited so long to start dove hunting. Now I need to remember to take more than 2 boxes of shells! ::)

Went out for about three hours this afternoon.
Saw several dove, but was only able to convince one to commit suicide by flying into the pattern from my 20 gauge Handi.
I REALLY like that little gun. I've been shooting 12 gauge, with no recoil pad, for years and shooting that little 20 was like
shooting a bb gun almost.
