The book you seek and that most of us would love to have has not been written yet. Kurt

Rhere may be a few here who could lead you to a few different authors who have written articles on some history though.

For the most up-to-date information on H&R history and models/variations within models, DOM, etc., including current average national valuations of hand guns, shotguns and rifles - check out the H&R section of the 29th Edition of Fjestad's "Blue Book of Gun Values".  This rewrite by Bill Goforth is the culmination of 12 years of historical research by Bill and a bunch of years of collecting (and over 400 items) by me, providing the hardware.
Later this year or early next year - Bill's book will be on the shelves.  This will be the first and the most comprehensive guide to H&R firearms of all types and covering the time frame of 1871 up to 1999.  In the mean-time...I will be glad to offer any help that I can if you have questions concerning any H&R firearms...I don't know everything and we are still learning ... but any information/data provided will be authentic, based upon lots of research and hands on experience.
