A few years back the Irishman from brooks usa soldm me one of his heavy duty barrels in .50 call I mounted it on a sturdy 1/2 black walnut carraige. Well I figure I had to try it. I used 100 grains of FFG with a .490 ball. I did the test lated at night. And yes this thing had a serious report. The barrel held up so did the carraige but the Quion shot off and lost it. Like I said I really don't recomend doing this but I can say the Irishman does overbuild his cannon
