Rifle scope for G2 ??

Every now and then I read a post by someone stating that they use a rifle scope on their Contender pistol ? I'am no big fan of any  pistol scope they
are adequate at best. How do you use a rifle scope with no eye relief ? Do you contort you body and head into strange postions to see through it ?
If I can use a rifle scope instead of a very expensive adequate at best pistol scope please show me the way.

I believe some people use rifle scopes for very light kicking cartridges, you certainly cannot use a 3" eye relief scope and fire a 45-70 govt in a contender.

I use rifle scopes on three of my pistol barrels, a 22lr, 22mag, and 221FB, obviously light kickers.  That cotorted position that is used is usually refered to as a Taco hold.  I wont even try to descibe it, but it is similiar to someone eating a taco, hence the name.  Maybe somebody can post a picture.  I got a 16.25" 22lr and wanted to use it for squirrl hunting(one of my favorite pastimes).  I wanted to be able to use the barrel as a pistol and a carbine, but didn't want to change the scope every time I switched, so having a rimfire rifle scope on hand, I decided to try it.  Since the 16.25" barrels rear sight mounts in front of the scope base, I left it on and mounted the scope with see-thru rings.  After I got it all rigged up, I rarely use it as a carbine nor do I use the open sights much but I love it in pistol configuration and have since made up a 16.25" 22mag just like it to turkey hunt with.  I hold the pistol grip against the center of my chest with my strong arm and hold the forearm with my off hand keeping the elbow in tight against the ribs.  It probably sounds awkward but really is very stable.  Having the scope up off the barrel really helps.  This is not the Taco hold  I refered to earlier.  GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt

I use a rifle scopes (from 6x-36x) for 308 Win based, 284 Win based, and 7mm Rem Mag cartridge capacities and above in specialty handguns.
The majority of time these barrels are braked.
I am almost finished writing an article about this specific question.

one main thing to do is use a scope that has a longer eye relief than the majority of other riflescopes and then back off and do not see a full field of view.
Depending on cartridge/weight of handgun/brake you can safely see a full FOV, while other times you will be limited to a partial FOV.

I switched to a rifle scope for my .223. I have been shooting it for about a year with no problems. It is a semi cheap Bushnell extended eye relief 3-9 scope. They claim about 6" eye relief, at 9x it is more like 3".

I shoot off a bench or a rest. I use a firm two hand hold. I acquire the target with my eye close enough to get the full field of view, then back off a bit and squeeze off the shot. I may be overly cautious.

I admit that I started with reduced loads (some here said that it wouldn't work with anything more than a 22 Hornet) but now shoot normal .223.

I do not have the urge to try this with my 7-30 Waters or my .45 Win Mag.

Cartridges I have shot using a riflescope on a specialty handgun with a magnification of 20x or higher:
223 Rem, 22-250AI, 6mm-6.5x47 Lapua, 6mm-284, 260 Rem, 6.5-284, 284 Win, 7mm Dakota, 338 Lapua Improved.

Depends on cartridge, weight of your SP, load, etc.
What were you thinking of?
Do some research on what the eye relief of your scope is at its lowest and highest magnification.
