advice needed for used Citori
« on: July 06, 2008, 01:12:56 PM »
I am looking for my first gun for trap, and there is a Brwn Citori advertised locally.  It is described as a Lightning edition, 28" with four chokes, 12 ga,  and a hard case for $1100.  Is the lightning edition a trap gun or field gun?  I know from other posts the Citori is recommended, but I am not sure if this model(and barrel length) is  recommended for trap.  Any advice is appreciated.

No, the Lightening is not a trap gun, it's a field gun. Look for a Citori that is labeled "TRAP" or XT, big difference is the stock and barrel rib.
You can find a Browning Trap gun cheaper than the one you're looking at too. Try and find one with an adjustable comb and recoil pad. It makes it easier to fit to your body and shooting style.
Check out "www.trapshooters.com", they have lot's of good trap guns for sale along with great information about trap shooting
