Which day pack?
« on: August 09, 2008, 12:41:55 PM »
I'll be heading to the Bob Marshall wilderness in MT, for my first elk hunt this October.  I've been looking at day packs (Badlands, Eberlestock, Kelty, etc.) and was wondering if one is better than the others.  Thanks for any help.

Thats a tough one. The ones you mention are pretty pricey. Ive went thru 4 or 5 different day packs in the last 7 or 8 years. Ive settled on a Rocky outfitter. I can carry a pile of gear in it & it carries nice.  Sorry no help to ya . Good luck   Jay
I dont care what gun Im using as long as Im hunting

My day pack is a big fanny pack with suspenders. Its easier for me to get to the smaller items like, calls, binocs, range finder, wind indicators, gps, radio, snacks, water, etc without having to remove a pack. We hunt often hunt early seasons (Sept.) and its nice not having a sweaty spot between your shoulder blades when it gets warm.  I can tie my coat on top of it after it warms up or loop the whole thing to the top of my pack frame after a  successful hunt.
