Ha anyone ordered a new reviever for a barrel?

I ordered a .204 Ruger Bull barrel to be used with my Buffalo Classic. I find that I really rather would like to have the 204 dedicated to its own reciever. Can I do this? I haven't talked to NEF yet. I did look at the FAQ's. Might have to send it in for fitting.

NEF will not sell just the reciever, and I would be very surprised if they would fit a customer-provided barrel to a new reciever. I think your best bet is to check the "for sale" listings here, late-model reciever come up pretty often.

You can not buy just a receiver. You can buy a used one and fit the barrel to it. Periodically there are receivers for sale in the classified section here. If you get lucky the barrel will fit great, but if not look in the FAQ section, there is a "how to" fit a barrel. Good Luck and Good Shooting.
