hammock camping

Heard about some of the new hammocks for overnighting and wondered if anyone here has tried it.  Looking into a bridge style hammock where you can lay flat on your side and even claims stomach sleeping is poss.  How 'bout it?

clodbuster, I don't know about the hammock you mention but I used a ww2 surplus jungle hammock for camping in Florida as a kid and into my early adult life. Stomach sleeping was not possible with this one. It did have a waterproof top and mosquito netting sides that worked. You needed extra insulation under you beside your bag but it kept you off the ground and away from the snakes and such. The mosquito netting worked as long as you did not lay directly against it. All in all it worked very well for me. Regards, Byron

I have slept in a hammock many nights. Most of them I woke up cold. I was using a cheap lightweight hammock and a poncho liner for a cover though. I think it is a great idea if you can get a light hammock that sleeps well. I have bid on a couple on ebay, but they always sell for more than I want to pay.
