Grimjim, Try something for me. With an unloaded gun, rack the slide, and pull the trigger to drop the hammer. Don't release pressure on the grip safety...while still maintaining pressure on the grip safety, release pressure on the trigger. Does trigger return to its original position? If you release pressure on the grip safety, does the trigger pop out to the starting position? If this happens, it could mean that the trigger is not resetting due to it binding on the grip safety.
If the trigger sticks back when there is pressure on the grip safety, you need to do a little more work on the grip safety. You have cut the grip safety enough to clear the trigger bow when the grip safety is depressed, but it still binds on the top of the trigger bow after the trigger moves to the rear.
Of course as mentioned elsewhere, the disconnect0r my not be resetting...but if it worked in the gun in its original configuration it should work now, ....unless you made some changes....
