EZ pull trigger
« on: August 29, 2008, 04:33:47 AM »
Has anyone bought/ tried one of these things on their rig? I saw one in the local shoot-em shop but the clerk couldnt tell me much other than what the packaging stated. Seems like it would take some getting use to, hinged at the bottom like it is. Iam wondering if it really reduces the pull weight as claimed. :-\

They've been discussed before, the big question is how they would do with the transfer bar since the trigger must be pulled all the way to the rear each time for proper function and accuracy. The other issue is the Handi trigger guard is plastic and too wide, so you'd have to modify the trigger guard just to get it on. Doing a trigger job as shown in the FAQs is the best option short of having someone else do it for you, I'd be more inclined to spend the $40 at the gunsmith if I couldn't do my own trigger jobs, or have it done by H&R when sending it in for an accessory barrel.

Thanx Tim, It all makes sense to me, I'll hang on to my 35.00 and do it right.

Tim has it right. You do not need one for the Handi, you can do adjustments on the Handi to get a good trigger pull. I also happen to own one. I have an Old Mossberg 340K, I think, in 22 Mag. The trigger pull is horrible and there is no way to get it down to a decent pull. I bought an EZ Pull trigger for it. Did it lighten the trigger pull - you bet, by quit a lot. I also got MUCH more trigger creep and I have barely enough room to put my finger on the trigger (just the tip). If I put on any kind of glove, I would not get my finger in there at all. Not sure what the clamp screws did to the trigger guard, because I did not take it back off. If you have enough room in the trigger guard to mount the EZ Pull trigger to get your finger in comfortably, they do help. It will not make a bad trigger great, just lighter. I almost forgot the EZ Pull trigger will flop ahead if you point the gun down and you have to push it back with your finger to get into it to pull it, not good for a quick shooting situation. My advise is to only use the EZ Pull trigger if you have NO other option, like a trigger job or a new after market trigger, you have enough room inside the trigger guard for it and you absolutely must reduce the trigger pull. Good Luck and Good Shooting.
