I talked  with Gary Jepson last night,he said Wiley is in the hospital and not doing good.
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning.It smells like victory!!

Wileys" column was always good reading as Asa said.   Wiley would help you any way he could and was always ready to help a trapper in need.

That is too bad...always good reading...I've always liked his "rambling" in his book...going along then BANG!! Does he still live in..I believe it was Ely Nevada?(only about 175mi from here)

Boy oh boy , thats a name that brings back memories . I remember being 13 and 14 yrs old and laying in bed on those dang school nites , wearing my coon hunting lite , and reading those Trapper & Predator caller mags . Those were were thick mags back in the 80"s . I read Wiley"s stuff in there all time .

:)   yep i dug out some of my TPC mags fm 70s and reread someof  the stories and Wileys storys and lure recipes... Been awhile but still good to read like for the first time.

They had so many "Johnny Come Latelys" giving rediculous advice back 20-25 years ago in the Trapper magazine that Wiley was always a breath of fresh air with an interesting column and sound advice.  Ace
