I am shooting a little. Changing from Compound to stickbow this year, and need to shoot a lot more.
Won't hunt 'till I get a LOT better than I am now.

I gave up bow hunting awhile back and sold everything.  I had to many things going at one time.

the place we were hunting went away

Happening a lot here in the south. The two places I hunted for many years are both gone. One is now a subdivision and the other leased to a sportsmans club, with a very "elite" membership.
I hunted WMA's last year, and it wasn't too bad.

I have been shooting for a week now. I had all my arrows re-fletched and picked up 1/2 a dozen more. My bow is shooting well so long as I don't snatch the trigger. If all goes well during bow season I may not even hunt gun season except to let my 9 year old shoot a couple deer.

get 2 ft from target and shut your eyes when you shoot.that will stop your punch trigger habit. nice to have a bystander for saftey. i punched an answer training release 15 times one year in meredian,ms at a bow shop range just south of town.

Thanks for the tip. I will try it. It is not my only bad habit I have to break every year. There is the lack of follow through too. I am not a bad bow shooter. I have been shooting for a long time. I just start the bad habits each year when I start practicing. I get past them before season, but it just takes a few sessions to get back in the swing of things. Thankfully none of my bad habits are so bad that I am missing my target! I can still keep them in the kill zone, just not knockin the nocks off the arrows.
