« on: August 24, 2008, 03:37:30 PM »
anyone use this in a handi? It's brass plated steel cased, around fidy five cents a round. wanna have is just cause.

what about GB 97gr sabot slugs in a nickle steel case? Ok, gonna use it for round the place pest chores, and to teach the kids (when they get to that phase)  thanks again.

best i've found and shot was #6 remington in a 3" shell. i was playing around last fall and loaded #4's by hand counting the pellets as they didn't feed very well.

also, try using 148gr HBWC's into a 2 1/2" AA with H110 powder. it's a fun and cheap "slug" round. they aren't very stable, but the kids shoot the heck out of them.

i used a standard lead 148 grain hollow based wad cutter on top of a couple small balls of newspaper and 14gr of h110. all this inside of a AA HS 410 wad and shell. i used newspaper balled up real tight to build up the top of the hbwc to just below the top of the wad.

these were loaded on a mec junior. btw, these loads left a lot of unburnt powder in the barrel.
