Twoshooter, why did you find it necessary to bash my brotherinlaw on this thread? ;D  He just finished a "guided" elk hunt, that all told cost around $25,000.00 to $30,000.00.
This of course includes the enclosed trailer he bought to haul his equipment to Colorado, shooting a big bull, meat processing, mounting, ect.

Brothers-in-law were created to bash, because there is no other way to explain our sisters' poor judgement.  The best we can do is change his name to "Target" so we can all take a shot at him and file him in the same camp with the Profinos.  That way, when a discussion comes up, it will be Target and the Profinos...he'll be immortalized. ::) ::) 8) 8)

Congratulations to your BIL, mostly on doing what it takes to have that much "disposable income" ;) . I recently retired and that amount exceeds slightly my projected permanent annual gross income :( , but that is life.

While I am at it, we have overlooked the other side of the Handi family- the shotguns.

I would love to have a 20ga TDC, but that may not happen.

I do have a 410 26" full just for Squirrels, a 28 & 20 ga for Dove, and a 10 ga Turkey gun. I am looking for a 16ga just for rabbits, and a 12 ga trap maybe. so far I have 4 gauges for under $400. I would have liked to have Merkel, or even Browning in all 6 guages, but I need other things- like a house. ;D Instead, I will have H&R, for about $700 total.

Thanks for posting that truth Pete, it hit home for me.

shotguns.

The shotguns are fantastic, lightweight and easy to carry all day, super reliable and patterns equal to any high dollar shotgun.

I have a 16 gauge for everything. My son has a 16 gauge for turkeys and a .410 for everything else. I picked up an old Worcester built .410 recently that I'd like to try on squirrels next fall.

So let's go for four...   I like 'em, among other reasons, because I'm cross dominant and working a left-handed bolt gun with my "weak" side was something I never got completely comfortable with.  Tried a single shot and it just grew on me.  Less is more, as they say.

I have always wanted a custom rifle,  and could never afford one, since I discovered Handi's, I can afford all of them I want. ;D With this forum, I can even find out how to do some of them myself.  ;D Who could ask for anything more?  ;) ;D ;D ;D , Roy

Dee I would say at this point you might want to give em one more try! start with an open mind, pick a nice medium bore round,(.30-30 comes to mind), if it has a rim all the better, check it for quality before you buy then go shoot it. Be sure to follow the advice from a few of the gentlemen here and I bet you will be happy. IF not you surely will find a buyer here and you won't be out anything but your time. Even that wasn't wasted because you got to go shooting!

Well I read some but not all about why ya'll like your single shots. I have a Encore , had several Contenders and several shotguns over the years. Nothing wrong with a single shot and a lot of post here were good. I also had a Ruger #1 in 22-250 . Had a Remington 22 . I also ask the same question Dee has ask here about a year or more ago. (got no reply I remember ) .The only single shot  I still have is an Encore 50 cal. ML . I wish I lusted after the single shot like some of you do ( yea I read Richards post about wimzzs ) but I just don't so I will keep reading ya'll 's stories and shooting them lever and bolt guns.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
