I was never impressed with the Handi Rifles until the 45 Colt Carbine came out a couple years ago. The case hardend receiver and walnut furnature really impressed me. The first trip to the range it was apparent there was something wrong with the transfer bar in the mechanism. Returned it for rapair and while there had 357 Magnum and 12GA barrels added. Customer Service waved the fitting and return fees so all I was out was the cost of the new barrels. Turn around was just three weeks, ah the good old days. Anyway to make a long story short I use the 357 barrel more than the 45Colt and ugh! the 12Ga barrel together. Look up the heavy bullet loads listed in the the #10 Speer and I think the #27 Lyman Manuals if you want to try something really diffrent with 180gr and 200gr bullets, which the long throat of the Handi has no problem taking. As for the 12Ga barrel I'm still thinking of having a PolyChoke added, along with plinking with the Aguila 12Ga mini shells which are a hoot.
