New 20ga Ultra Lite Slug Hunter

Not much for range report as I only shot it to get scope close.I am working up home brew full bore slugs for this one. I used some left over Hastings Laser sabot slugs 2 3/4" 15/16oz they shot one ragged hole 2" high at 50yrd 1475fps no doubt I can use these if I can't get the full bore slugs completed . This is the 2008 model with the Ultragon rifling only shot it 9 times so there was nothing to note in the bbl looks very promising.Hell of a kick though it sports a 3x9 Busnell Elite 3200 with a Sims Limbsaver recoil pad Gray/Black laminate Limited Edition stocks and has been sprayed with the Stainless pigment paint from Steel-It may be looking for mercury recoil reducer.Weight is almost
6 1/2 #'s on bath scale pretty happy with this one so far.  ;DKurt

Phat what type of slugs are you using for your full bore project?  Are you loading them by hand and roll crimping?  I want to get started reloading slugs that is why I am asking.

I'm using Dixie terminator slugs and Fiocchi Dangerous game slugs .Will be loading both brass and plastic hulls the dangerous game are going to be loaded in fiocchi preprimed cases they are pretty cheap and will be roll crimped. The Rocky Mountain Cartridge brass cases will have an over card on top.Gonna work with Herco and maybe some of that 5744 powder only looking for 1200 to maybe 1500fps depending on accuracy and leading. Plummeroy has been working with the dixie slugs he has some posts on here of that work. I am not sure whether you can get the 20ga from them any more as when we bought ours they were not gonna be making them anymore and i got 300 at that time but that was late last yr or early this yr. Roy would probly know though as he has talked to Dixie quite a lot. The DG slugs I got from Midway or Ballistic Products Inc also the plastic hulls from BPI. I just got to figure out how to get my body to roll out from under the recoil like Tykempster does with that 45/120 ;DKurt

Phat sounds cool. Can you still buy just the 12ga slugs from Dixie not the loaded ones just the lead slugs?  The fiocchi hulls your buying are they the 2 3/4" or the 3".  Straight or tapered skived or not?  What brand of roll crimper are you using?      Thanx John.

MSP Ret maybe doing a little reloading of these also. I'll have to check my stuff out when I get home on the other stuff the hulls are 2 3/4 though and come primed i'll have to see if they are skived i don't think they are the roll crimper is the one BPI sells Dixie has a web site and I thought I still saw slugs only listed there in 12ga Roy has talked to the guy from dixie and says he is more than happy to talk about his slugs and loads in general. give him a call or check the web site.I'll get back at you wed with more info. I'm using the bpi 3" multi hulls pre primed and bluedot powder Dixie 20ga terminator slug @1200 f.p.s.  I get 2-2.5" groups at 50 yards w/iron sights in a tracker II  If that won't kill it I don't need to be shootin' at it
