That was cool, congratulations. I like the tracking part, that's my favorite part of deer hunting. Are you getting a rug made or anything?

Man that just got me stoked up for this next week, as bear season opens on Monday the 15th.

Thanks for posting your video link there.

GRIMJIM,
I am getting a shoulder mount, I have a rug and 2 full body mounts right now of black bear. I am going back to Wild Country Outfitters next year, looking for a bigger bear, now as long as I don't get an itchy finger, I know it will happen.

The Montanan, good luck to you. Let us know how you do...

What load did you use?
And where did you hit him? Did you recover the bullet ? or did it pass through?

Cool video.  Man, I bet that's a blast.  One of these days, work permitting (and of course if I quit spending money on everything else  ;D) I'd like to do that.  Loved the shot of the pistol cocking, there was a few BIG pieces of lead in that cylinder, for sure.

The thing I found interesting was you hunted from the ground. I don't like to go in trees and most bear hunts are from tree stands so I've never gone.

I really liked hearing that Wolf howl at the start of the video hahaha....Sorry, an old predator hunter here.
Great video and I can't believe how well your blind blended in with it's surroundings...this video was icing on the cake for sure and my congratulations to you.

I was using 29 gr. of IMR4227 behind a 350 gr, hard cast WFLGC bullet. I hit him in the lungs, and the top of the heart, it was a  pass through, and into a large log, but I did not recover the bullet.

That is why I like Wild Country Outfitters, Pete the owner/Guide, knows what he is doing with the ground blind hunting. He has the perfect set up. I have hunted with several outfitters for bear, and no one put forthe the effort Pete did to get us on bear,  Wild Country Outfitters is the only one I would ever use again.

The ground blinds are top notch and a lot of room 7'X7', I did not see the blind when we first got to the bait sight, it was so well done. When I went in, I was looking for the blind, and did not see it until he pointed it out. He builds them from logs and surrounding pines.
