Does anyone know if T/C will replace them with a G2? I would rather have my broken or worn parts replaced, rather than get a new gun. Anyone have experience with this issue?

Unless the frame is stretched or the locking table is worn, T/C would replace any worn parts. So far I believe T/C is sending out old style frames right now until there stock is out. I know someone who recently sent in a frame and got a new old style frame back. T/C still has the castings to make the old frames as for as I know.

I WOULD CALL AND ASK BEFORE YOU SEND THE FRAME IN IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE OLD STYLE FRAME. A WHILE BACK I HAD SENT IN A LODER STYLE FRAME IN FOR REPAIR THAT I WANTED TO KEEP FOR SENTIMENTAL REASONS 3 WEEKS LATER I GOT HOME FROM WORK AND FOUND A NEW FRAME ON MY DOORSTEP ( LITTERALY) I CALLED AND ASKED WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY OLD FRAME AND WAS TOLD IT WAS BAD AND HAS ALREADY BEEN CUT UP. JUST WISH THEY WOULD HAVE LET ME KNOW FIRST.

When you send your frame to T/C for repair you should send a letter or note with it explaining what the problem is and what in your opinion you would like done. State in your letter you want to keep your frame, or request a phone call before replacing the frame. Your wishes will be honored. Communication is the name of the game.

I have heard that it is expensive to ship a frame to TC is it?

Steve,

To ship a frame back to the manufacturer, just use UPS. You will have to show them what you are shipping. If you remove all wood, you can tell them it is a rifle action and ship cheaply using ground. If you tell them it is a handgun action, they require next day shipping at around $30

About a year ago I sent an old frame SN 9XXX (it wouldn't stay cocked) for repair. I encluded a letter stateing that if it couldn't be repaired using period parts to send it back as was. I also stated that I didn't want the finish touched. Well I got it back in about 8 weeks with a hand written note from a tech named George letting me know that he had scrounged through "bench boxes" to find the parts needed to repair the frame. What more can you ask.
