Difference in 336 models

Whats the difference in the 336 models? I bought the cheap version and was wondering if there is any difference mechanically. I know the wood is cheaper, but I want to make sure it functions the same. Thanks.

The actions are exactly the same as far as I can tell...I believe the only difference is in the wood and barrel band locations....

I knew the wood was different, but I didn't know about the barrel bands. Are you sure about the barrel bands?

look at the pictures on the marlin sight...one of them did have a nose cap instead of a barrel band... the 336A is the only one made this way...
