I bought one at the gunshow last weekend, haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.

Personally, I don't know why there isn't alot more posting of and interest in the Sig Pro's.

Read all the reviews you can find on them (there are many) and they are pretty much all exceptional, it is afterall a Sig.  I did find alot of whining about it being difficult to strip, but then sat down and did so with mine in a matter of seconds.  Any old near dead 3 legged dog with one eye gone could do it if he grew up around any John Browning designed handgun as it dissassembles just the same.

Due to the fact that you can still find decently priced 9mm I was looking for a pistol in that calibre last weekend.  First I was looking at the cheaper Keltecs, but they didn't appeal to me too much.  The $400 Ruger SR9 looked like a decent enough gun but I wasn't too enthused by the fact that I knew there was a recall for them.  The Glocks, M&P's, and XD's were all more expensive.

The 2022 came NIB with 3 mags and night sights as well as extra grip panels for $450.  Those things combined with the fact that it is a Sig was enough for me.

I have owned Sig 229's, 239's, and 220's over the years.  The Sig Pro's are cheaper but only because due to the polymer frame they don't cost as much to produce.  Other than that, they look like, feel like, operate like, - and I'm sure shoot like other Sigs.  However as I mentioned they do take down like a Colt/Browning more than a Sig.

To me it is an exceptional value for the money.

I've owned a SIG PRO 2340 for the past 10 years or so.  Mine is the "Blue Line" model with SIG night sights.  It came, obviously, with the .40 S&W barrel and I managed to purchase a SIG factory .357 SIG drop in barrel for it.  It is one of the most accurate semis that I own - almost as accurate as my customized GSR 1911 SIGARMS.  It has NEVER choked and never failed to eject.  I have fired one of the best 10 shot groups (with the .40 barrel) that I've ever shot - 10 rounds through a single hole 3/4" in diameter at 25 feet in an indoor range.  The .357 SIG barrel is a bit looser at that range - but it definitely "hits" harder.  I often carry the piece with the .357 barrel.  I don't know why these guns didn't achieve greater "fame" - perhaps because they are the first of the SIG polymer frames - and most SIG owners are traditionalists - demanding metal metal metal.  I find my SIG PRO to be just about IDEAL in the concealed carry mode - except during the hotter months - then my CCW is a .44 Special revolver.  Each to his own.  Your piece should give you great satisfaction in accuracy and dependability and last as long as you take care of it.  ENJOY!
p.s. - Yeah, field stripping is a bit more difficult than just flipping a lever - but it's not a killer, unless you don't have any hand strength in your left hand - and then you need a friend to help out while you pull the pin.  Other than that - it just damn straight forward - I do like the take down lever on most of the other SIGs a bit more though.

I have one in a 9mm and love it. I wish the gunshop would of had one in a .40 but they didn't. Mine is very, very accurate and has a sweet trigger when in single action, I think the double action trigger is long. I was glad I had mine a few months ago, we had a very aggresive stray dog at the house the jumped in my Envoy after the wife went the the store and then started fighting with my dog. Had my girls and wife there and it was almost really ugly. Kind of thankful I had it. I was able to hit him three times before he hit the ground. Those shots were in very quick and very accurate. Glad no one was hurt and no I didn't feel wonderful about shooting the dog. The dog was big and aggresive and my wife and kids come first over animals! Plus he wasn't the pettin' type either.

Question for Sig Pro guys. Can you change the trigger from DA/SA to DA only. I thought I read that somewhere. Also do they make one in 357 sig only.  I have a ton of 357 sig ammo. Your post have me thinking about getting one.

I think that they make one in a .357 Sig. I think that you can make it double action only but I never tinkered with it. I like mine the way it is. Maybe some one else will chime in on this.

Personally I hold the Sig pistols in high regard! Yes, even thought I don't carry one as my CCW tool of choice, I do own several Sig pistols. They are a quality made pistol, that in most cases shoot very accurately right out of the box. I have only had 1 Sig pistol that was not to my liking at first shooting session. However, it did come around after some 400 rounds were put throught the pistol. The old saying, "You only get what you pay for" is very true in pistols and Sigs are well engineered and built out of quality parts.

They can indeed be switched, you need the DA fire control module. I've never done it but understand it's not that difficult a job. I have about 7yrs on my Pro and can attest to their flawless operation. I can strip mine faster than I can strip the older designs, after a few hundred rds and maybe ten take downs the little tension spring must loosen up, or the lever detent slicks up.

On the possible down side. The grip comes in hefty and man that's fat. The entire pistol is a chunky thing, not so much heavy as bulky. If you are planning on a daily carry gun there are better choices out there. Holsters are available but you do need to look around and will most likely be ordering one.

I'm not trying to talk you out of the gun but figure full disclosure is in order. As a nightstand gun, truck gun and range toy or even carry sometimes, you won't find a more dependable weapon at a better price.

I keep hearing that the SP2022 is being discontinued, in favor of the P250( ack ). They must have been pretty over stocked with them cause there seems to be a constant supply at the fun store. If the rumor is true I wouldn't expect a conversion.

Regardless of make and model you will be proud that you are packing a Sig if your butt is on the line. 8)

I have owned a boat load of Sigs over the years, never had a bad one.
