Pre-81 BLR in .308. Magazine capacity?

Dear Guys,

   I note that the magazines for the pre-81 BLRs are rounded, and stick out below the receiver.  How many rounds do these mags hold in a regular caliber like the .308?  Do they hold 5 rounds, or only 4 rounds (like the mags for the current BLRs)?

4 but I found that they worked even better with only 3 in the mag.
