Just ordered saber tooth .429's
« on: August 02, 2003, 03:56:46 PM »
Just ordered a set of swc 1-E rbt with a large hp and a .25 flatnose dies and the saber tooth punch from Corbins today...wonder how long the wait will be this time?

I ran the configuration up on the screen using a drafting program and it looked like it would do a fine job.  A tad pricey but should work well in a .50 cal muzzie.

My buddy thats making the new tip punches for my .40 cal keithnose said He'll make 3-4 more punch holders for me to keep things a bit more simple.    I keep offering to pay him for all his work but he'll only take a case for us to share.    Good to have freinds in low places! :P
The older I get the better I was!

Hello all, :D

hunter280man, I have a saber tooth punch that was ordered with my .451 die set. It sure does make for a nice bullet if done right. What I mean is whatever looks good to you is right. I like mine where the folds are smooth making the tip looks like a solid piece around the rim of the hollow point but my point forming die also folds the jacket over flat so that there is only lead showing inside the hollow of the hollow point. Yes, I think you’ll like your saber tooth punch just don’t put undo pressure on the punch just enough to fold the jacket in that’s all, any more is not going to do anything more except to open the mouth of the punch hurting it or even wrecking it.  I love mine.
