Progression

This hobby is like a pressive illness, I started out with a Brooks M-FC and started working my way up.  The wheels is in the backround is a starting point of my next project. (more info on that at a later date I am having Dom Carpenter cut the barrel.  What happens now? 1/2 scale 3/4? or full scale? Well time to make some garage space. I don't think I want to discuss my mortar issues yikes...........

 Why? Will you be "mortar-fied" ? :D  :D  :D  I know I was at last count. I think someone here said something to the effect of "Just go ahead and buy one full scale piece" it will be cheaper in the long run.... It might have been Artilleryman who made that statement.

Yes I made a statement something like that.  I am still interested in full scale guns, but smaller ones now,  such as the Confederate Mountain Rifle, 12 pdr Howitzer, Ellsworth, and others.  They are easier to transport and cost less to shoot.   I can fire five service loads from my Ellsworth for less than what it costs to shoot one service round from my Parrott.

This is an older shot of my collection of older cannon most of them are small and I sold about 50% of them for larger projects.  I say the cannon count is the same from new additions but they are larger ones now.

Obviously symptoms of a obsessive compulsive disease...suggest you burn a compound of potassium nitrate, carbon and sulpher and inhale the fumes and that should help you deal with your issues...and double your collection.   :) :) :)

Be glad you started small my first cannon was  a 5/8 scale 10lb parrot. then I built my full scale 24 lb confederate mortar and mortar wagon. now I have traded 5,500lbs of lead for a full scale 2.25 confederate mountain rifle on a 1st model praire carriage. and already have wheels to build the limber for it. lol stay small its cheaper.
