If it were me, I would buy it.
Around here they go for between $100 and $125, but if it was spotless I would try and make a deal for it.
I have three, and would buy another one if I saw one in great condition, especially an older model with the nice
wood stock and a round ball barrel.

Is it a 50 caliber or 12 gauge barrel?

Either way, I would buy it.

`Ya can't go wrong.  I love my .50 New Englander.  Have killed more deer with it than any of my other muzzle loaders.

yup, i think a New Englander is a fine bread n butter ML fer hunting. i picked a slightly used one last Dec. 50 cal LH peep sight early model 1-48 no QLA. Man handed me the box of maxi-hunters he bought and sighted it in with and he had shot 6 of them to sight it in at 50 yds. he cleaned it up and never got to go hunting with it. it is nice and i plan on hunting with it this fall using prb and 70grs. kept all my shots on a playing card at 50 yds.
