Just use them for the range. I had a misfire last year it was a big 8 pointer.

I haven't tried the Win 777 primers, they were sold out last year when I went looking.  What I did find & buy was the Remington BlackPowder Kleenbore primers.  Only used a dozen so far - did most of my other sight-in & shooting with regular Win 209s.  Everyone of the Remingtons has worked just fine, no misfires out of the few, so far.

Remmys aren't the first I reach for in 22 lr ammo because of misfires.

And I sure wouldn't recommend Rem to anyone right now because of the time it's taken to get my Handi back with some new barrels, but the truth is the truth.  Did not have the crud ring like the regular Win 209s put in the bore either.

I like CCIs real well.  I'm hearing the  Winchester 777 primers are ok with real blackpowder, & Pyrodex RS, but not good with 777.  I also heard they should never be used with Blackhorn 209.  I might get some Remingtons.

I used them with good success last year in my Knight......  BUT in my Omega they SUCK.  Misfired more in one range session than all the other times I've shot put together.  The Remington Kleenbores give me 100% ignition every time.  They are my favorite one.  I'd like to try the CCI's but haven't taken the time to hunt them down.

I personally have had nothing but great luck with the 777. I have experimented  with other primers without any problems or misfires as well. I have always heard about people getting a "crud" ring but had never experienced until last week when I tried the cleanbore primers. It was a mess. I went back to the 777.......no problem at all. Just works good in my gun. Never had a misfire with one and have been using them since they were introduced (knock on wood here!). By the way I am using a huntsman.
