I use the 225gr white tipped Nosler Accubond in my .338/378 Weatherby. I am pushing them out at 3210fps. Last November I shot a Cow Moose at 787 yards. One shot, she flinched and turned, then stood still for about 15 seconds before falling. Typical reaction to Moose shot at 80 yards with my .338 Win Mag. Bullet did not do a complete pass through, but the near lung and stomach was badly damaged. On this shot I missed my typical shoulder shot, hit just behind the shoulder, too high for the heart. I was aiming for center mass, and that is where I hit. Did not find the bullet but did not really look for it either. I was happy with the result, and at minus 15 was not spending extra time just to find something that had worked well in my opinion.
I also load them in my .338 Win Mag. All the Moose I have shot with them in this gun have been at 80 yards or less. All have been pass troughs with no bullet to find to judge bullet expansion. Both lungs are always destroyed, along with one shoulder. I always do a center of the shoulder shot, taking out the near shoulder.
They work well on Caribou too.
