« on: October 01, 2008, 04:06:45 PM »
Senate passes bailout -- with sweeteners
The Senate tonight passed a sweeping and controversial financial bailout similar in key ways to one rejected by the House just two days earlier. The measure was passed by a vote of 74-25 after more than three hours of floor debate in the Senate. Both presidential candidates, Barack Obama and John McCain, voted in favor, CNNMoney.com reports. developing story

you beat me to it.   they tried the front door, then the back door, and if they have to, they will break down the door.  they are bound and determined to get this slammed through despite the will of the people.  oh the names i could call them.........

Now we make note of who voted in favor and take them to task for voting against the wishes of their constituents.

It is up to the House now. Let's see who has got the backbone to resist the sugar. Failing the taste test, perhaps the Fear of not getting re-elected in Nov might influence some. :(

Sen. Feinstein got 100 to 1 calls against the bail-out and she ignored the Electorate so she must be feeling very safe.

the "FEED LOT BILL" or the "SLAUGHTER HOUSE BILL"

Let's hope that the majority of the House turns into vegetarians, at least for the night!!   ;D

easier to get thru the senate, less people to bribe. if they divided the money they want to give away it comes to over 400,000 for every adult in the u.s. If they gave it to us we could all pay off the morgage and save the banks and buy a new car and save the auto industry i suggest you send this to your reps and have them introduce this idea as the "bail out bill"
the nation that forgets it defenders will itself be forgotten

No if you actually do the math I think you'll find it's only a bit over $400 per US citizen not $400,000 each.

I'd gladly send in my $400 if they'd use it to put Barney Fag, Harry Reid, Chris Dodd,  Nancy Pilosi and others in stocks and do away with Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac.

If you divide the 850 billion that this deal is actually going to cost after all the pork is totaled up by the 300 million or men, women, and children in this country, it comes out to about $2,800 per person.

How about dividing by the number of people who actually pay taxes?

Does "sweetened" and "pork ladened" mean the same thing? The Senators with this method BOUGHT the votes of Greedy Senators and Congressmen to pass this crap.
Obama and McCain have just PROVEN BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT, THAT THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE DO NOT MATTER TO THEM. And yes I am shouting. ;)

IMHO, I think the Senate and those members of the House that changed their vote only because there was something in it for them should be charged with Bribery.
