Bullet sizing

When casting with a Lee R.E.A.L. mold, specifically a 50 caliber, do I need to size the bullet, or will these fire ok from my 50 cal. inline as is from the mold?  I've done a bit of cartridge reloading, but not a lot of bullet casting.  Thanks in advance for your advice.

I've used the 50 REAL as cast; you're talking soft lead and sizing is an unnecessary extra procedure.  I don't size any B/p bullets as the soft lead will engrave the rifling and actually larger is better for the tighter seal.

Thanksfor your reply.  Those were my thoughts, but not based on real experience.  As a boy I reloaded thousands of rounds, but my Dad did the casting for the most part.  He never allowed us to use a powder drop, we had to weigh each charge twice etc.  He also sized bullets for specific guns.  I've not fooled around with it for a whole lotta' years now, but have a renewed interest.

The R.E.A.L. bullet was designed to be lubed and shot as cast, and made with very soft lead.....
