Encore 7mm-08

I just picked up a 24" 7mm-08 barrel and loaded up some sierra 120's with 43 grains of IMR 4895. They shoot great! I would like to get as much velocity as possible out of the load. So, Have any of you tried more 4895 than 43 grains? Does anyone use 4895 in theirs and how much? I will work up slowly to be safe but It would be great to find out if im in the neighborhood of a max load already or if I have room???

If your load shoots great, why change it?  What you will find as you increase the powder charge in a load is that the groups start out as not so great, then they get better and maybe excellent and then, as the charge is increased they start to widen again.  Go ahead and increase your powder charges in 0.5 to 1 grain increments (depending on how close you are to a maximum published powder charge).  If the group sizes with charges are bigger than what you are getting now then there is no good reason to use bigger powder charges.

I would only change it to get more velocity. Many of my guns shoot best groups with max loads and some do not. I would just like to hear what others are using.

straight off there web site 44 is what they give for the max on a Nosler 120 looking at pressure it should go a little higher but watch for your pressure signs. Don't think you are going to gain more than 50 to 80 fps from what I've seen but most of my 708 loads work out the best when they are near max.
