Whitneyville Dragoon?
« on: November 13, 2003, 08:15:57 PM »
I was thinking of purchasing a Ubertia Whitneyville Dragoon, in lew of some major modification to a my Walker.

Is the shorter barrel and loading lever catch enough better than a Walker to warrent it?  Realy like the early lines over a 2nd or 3rd model.

Also does anyone know of an outlet for them?  Havent' been able to find that particular gun anywhere.
The thing about freedom, it's never free

THe Dragoon lever latch won't release under recoil like the Walker and stop the action, and the smaller cylinder takes more reasonable loads without as much filler.  The shorter barrel cuts some of the weight as well.  It's still a hefty revolver and it will still hold a bodacious charge of powder if you want to make noise and smoke.
