Nearly New Remington 700ML
« on: October 05, 2008, 02:17:42 PM »
I picked this up real cheap.  I had one a long time ago and I missed it.  I wish I could find the bolt disassembly tool.  I may order the Cabela's 209 conversion kit so I can use Blackhorn 209.  I'm still thinking about that since Blackhorn 209 cost $35.00 for a small container.  The scope is a Nikon 2-7X32 in Weaver Quad-Locs.

Not sure where you are buying the Blackhorn for $35.00 (Maybe Bass Pro???) Sportsmans Warehouse has it for $29.95. $35 is an inflated price above suggested retail.

We don't have a Sportsman's Warehouse.  That price is at BassPro and the sign said "on sale"

If that is their "sale price" I would hate to see the normal price as $29 is list almost everywhere else. Bass Pro is the closest to me and Cabelas is way across town but they just opened a Sportsmans Warehouse close so that is my normal place to shop now. To be a little fair Bass Pro will match prices so maybe you can get them to match Sportsmans Warehouse price????

If possible stay away from the remington conversion - it allows way to much blow back and it probably would not work with BH..
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....

I bought this tool at Gander Mountian for $10.00. It is indespencable and I feel should have came with the rifle to start with.
I tried to get one from the Remington store and was told they don't have them any longer.
I then had my favorite gun shop try to get me one thru their suppliers and they came up empty too.
I was shocked when I saw them at Gander mountian, but really happy too.

If you go to the 209 kit use the Canadain one sold at Cabelas.
I think I saw a test done with BH 209 in a remington and the results were not good due to the blow back if I remember.

I'm probably going to order the Cabela's 209 kit.  I need to check on that bolt disassembly tool.  I have done it without the tool, but the tool is nice.

I had the 700ml in the blued version and it shot great. It was just a pain to yake that bolt assembly apart and get it clean so i switched to the T/C.Other than that i loved it.

I've got that down to where I can do it in 5 minutes.  I do wish I had the plastic tool.  Does the Cabela's kit come with a disassembly tool?  It seems to.
