Please Remember Your Priorities

Folks, people are spending hundreds and even thousands on guns and ammo as product is flying off the shelves around the country. While this is good temporarily for the folks in the business, it does not help secure the future of the business.

People are willing to pay even inflated prices for certain items right now to get what they want or need in case there is a shortage or ban in the future. While all this money is being thrown around, please, please save a tiny bit to join the NRA, as they will be fighting the good fight will the citizens of this country stock up.
In the next couple years, the NRA will have to fight perhaps its toughest battle since it's existance with lobbying, public relations campaign, commercials, grass roots meetings, and membership drives. While some people have complaints about them for this and that, the bottom line is that the NRA is best equipped, more than any other entity, to fight the good fight to preserve our 2nd ammendment as we enjoy it now without the restrictions.
Not only join, but encourage all you gun owning friends, and even those folks who just shoot occassionally or own a pistol for home protection. The NRA does not choose parties, and should appeal to all gun owners on both sides. I have seen the NRA praise & recognizes both Democrats and Republicans for their efforts to preserve the second ammemdment.
It will be great to see the NRA report record memberships in the months to come. Thanks for your consideration, and thanks for caring about this issue, as your membership helps me also, and other like minded folks.

Rogmatt , I am a member of the NRA ,but America has never faced a threat like this before in her History ,and it is starting to look like the Russian was right. Americans have not a clue what is happening here ,for those of us who have seen this before , You are on the other end this time. You can not trust even your gun dealer that he will sell you and any one else who ever bought a gun from him out.
The NRA will be fine , but it will not be able to fight an entity that isnt following the rules the NRA is having to use.
Meaning ,Obama doesn't have to follow anything ,we will be a joke to try. Their is only one way to do this now.

Banning this stuff is only a small reason this stuff is flying off the shelves.

With talks of CONFINSCATING 401K's, peopel are buying this stuff for a much GREATER purpose.

A large percentage of folks haven't had a clue of what has been going on in the US and here in Canada for some time.  :(

I would encourage anyone who is concerned about the future of firearms ownership to join the NRA.  Even if you don't care about guns or shooting, the 2nd amendment is like the canary in the mine for other freedoms.  You will not find the NRA to be perfect, but they do give us collective strength.
Also, look into your state organizations, often affiliates.  I also belong to the Illinois State Rifle Association, which actively works with the legislators in our state capitol, organizes rallys, and keeps us informed of what is going on in the legislature and what we can do to make our voices heard.  Obviously with Daley in Chicago, Governor Blagojovic, and Senator (now pres-elect)Obama, and a giant surplus of anti-gun folks, we need a lot of effort in this state.  I think the state level efforts are just as important as the national.

The panic buying going on at present is simply crazy.  I called Able Ammo today concerning a recoil pad I had ordered about five days ago and had seen no movement on the order.  The fellow at the other end checked and came back to phone and told me my order went on the truck just today.  He then apologized and told me it had become a mad house there since the election with orders going through the roof and back orders now becoming the rule.  I look for a rocky road for gun owners ahead but this panic buying is uncalled for.  Anything that is going to get by and hit us is many months down the road with or system of government.  All the panic buyers are accomplishing today is to drive up the prices for those unscrupulous people that will take advantage of our pocket books.  I'll personally be doing some extra amount of stock piling but I know I've got the rest of this year and most likely most of next year before I have to become overly concerned.  As others have mentioned, join the NRA as they are the best watch dog representatives we have.

While I am a life member of the NRA, I am also a member of Gun Owners of America. The NRA would be like the regular Army while Gun Owners of America would be the Marine Corps. Join both.

Just do whatever you can to unite yourselves as a force to be reckoned with.
Make the NRA aware that in the past their leadership was noticeably lacking , and that now it is in the fight of its life .
