Which shell holder do I need for 460 S&W?

What number shell holder do I need for the RCBS case trimmer for 460 S&W?

#20 is for the 45 Long Colt and 454 Casull - It should fit the 460 S&W as well. The rim thickness is the same as the 45 Colt and it is only .008" larger in diameter. I do not think that RCBS lists one specifically for the 460 S&W.

The new Speer Reloading Manual #14 (Connected to RCBS) lists the shell holder as #14.  Many places on the web have noted that this is incorrect and should read #4.  I use the RCBS #4 holder to reload 460 cases and it works well.  As an aside, the Lee shellholder that came with my Lee 460 dies is #14.  This Lee holder and dies work great as well.

I am not sure if the trimmer numbers and the press numbers correspond. shaynster is looking for the shell holder number for the case trimmer, not the reloading press. I am still not positive on the #20, because I could not tie it down to the 460 S&W specifically. Chappy is correct that with the loading data, that the #14 is listed. You could always call RCBS to find out for sure. Their Customer service is outstanding.

RCBS's website Quick Reference Table lists the correct 460 S&W shellholder as #4.  RCBS uses the same # for their press shell holder and trimmer shell holder.  I have trimmed 200 460 cases on my RCBS trimmer using the #4 holder and it works great.
