Are any companies making pump-action .22s ?
« on: November 27, 2002, 08:07:28 AM »
Has anyone here ever used a Henry pump-action .22.   If so, how does it perform?  Are any of the other major gun manufacturers making pump or slide action .22's?  It seems that whenever I find one, it's a collectors piece and is extremely expensive.  I need one at a reasonable price.

Thank you.

Rossi makes one, taurus makes one, I believe they are all pretty much clones of the old winchester gallery guns. I don't remember what they were called, but I have shot a couple and they shoot real nice.KN

Remington, Model 572 BDL Deluxe Fieldmaster

The only pump-action .22 rimfire rifle made in America today. Shoots shorts, longs, and long rifle cartridges interchangeably from its easy-loading tubular magazine. Centerfire rifle quality, including a high-gloss Monte Carlo walnut stock with cut checkering, big-game rifle sights, positive cross-bolt safety, high-luster bluing and receiver grooved for scope mounts.

Check Tarus Firearms website , I was just looking at it and they show pump .22 looks like a copy of the Win 62. Also says they are coming out with a copy of the 63 in blue or stainless and if the price is as listed I am going to try one.. 8)http://www.taurususa.com/index.html

I don't know for sure, but I thought Taurus just bought Rossi's handgun division.  I think Rossi is making the .22/410 (which I would like to have) and they are still making their M92 lever guns.  Taurus was the one manufacturing the gallery pump in both .22LR and .22WMR.  They specifically said that they modified the 62 to fire only long rifles because the old Winchester originals had trouble with reliable feeding.

I would still recommend the Remington pump.  That is a great .22.
