Charger scope ??

 I just bought the Ruger Charger( love it ) and would like to put a better scope on it , are there any scopes that do not cost a arm and a leg  that  will last . I have a 1x scope on it and would like to put a 2-4 or 2-7 , what do you think ??

sorry for the late reply , i have been out hunting with my muzzy for deer .
It's  a 22 cal.
