Looking for part for my rifle
« on: August 05, 2003, 08:45:30 PM »
I am in need of a rear sight elevation screw for a Remington model 24. This is the rifle my Dad used to teach me how to shoot and I would really like to get it going again. I have tried Numrich and every other parts outlet I can find, no luck. If any one has the part or a good suggestion I would sure appreciate hearing from you.

.....This is a common problem and a good gunsmith can fit a new screw to the sight and it will work fine......a machinest could do the same thing if no gunsmith is available.......the threads are just finer than normal and smiths kits come with lots of various sized screws for fitting to aplications such as yours but they aren't listed in part numbers list many times.....HTH...good luck and good shooting!!

I called Gary Thiry in Sacramento about it today and he wants me to bring it in. Looks like he has a solution in mind. Thanks very much for your reply.
