I want a green house to grow fruit in!  We can hunt and fish for meat.  We have plenty of canned goods, but my family LOVES fresh fruit.

Our growing season is basically over here. Oh there are some things you can grow on into winter like greens but for the regular veggies it's pretty much done here like it is everywhere.

not to get too far off topic, but when does the growing season start and end down there?  ours starts around memorial day.  you might get away with planting earlier, but risk frost killing your plants.

You can plant some cold hardy things in late February and many things in March. By mid to late April most years all frost danger is past. We'll likely see a frost before the end of this month but might not. Still the season is old and things aren't really still in growing cycle but are now hardending off or dying back for fall/winter.
