Called C/S on the frame I got back last week. Nice lady, so I was nice as well. She explained they gave me a 99% discount on all the sight parts as that barrel didn't come with anything on it, just drilled and tapped. She will remove the charges for those parts. She explained they should have called me before doing anything as the cost was over $70.00, and they dropped the ball on that. Did say the charge for the scope rail was kosher as that barrel had nothing. Couldn't explain why the barrel is advertised as with sights. Forearm doesn't come with a swivel stud, Monte Carlo stock should but didn't. She said the Proof fee and Test fee are standard charges but would take them off. Had no answer about the box being so poorly packed, I told her I could salvage the hammer extension. Then I had her check on the other frame I had sent at the same time, and it's still in packing to be shipped! That one has to go back to Gardner of course so should see it in a week and a half or 2 weeks. She doesn't know why it's so far behind the other one, as the proof date on the one I have back is 9-15 and the test date is 9-18. When I asked her about the extra charges on the other barrel, she said there weren't any? Didn't know why only on the one and not the other. So, anyone wanting to send a frame in to get another barrel mounted can expect to be charged a total of $60.00 to get the barrel mounted, proofed, tested and shipped back to them. Makes buying the whole gun much more attractive. Will update on frame #2 when it comes in. I'm wondering if everyone whose guns are going to Gardiner are not having them packaged well and the ones from Remington are packed right? DP
