I have 3 - 38 snubs - Blue - S.S. - Total Ti and 2 Trackers = 357-4" & 17HRM 61/2" . I have taken apart all five for cleaning and spring adjustments for a lighter trigger. I am impressed with the interior & exterior quality of all five. My S.S. snub has a polished finish much superior to my S&W guns. I really like the velvet-honed finish on my Trackers. Do to changes in design from S&W I find them easier to take apart & re-assemble in areas of bolt stop& spring and Trigger hand & spring. My Tracker 17 has a Very heavy hammer mainspring which adds greatly to trigger pull. I am experienting with lighter spring to see if I still get reliable ignition on the rimfire cases. I did notice 3 rust type spots on my cylinder & frame. I tried Kroil - Bore Gell - etc. and noticed no change? I tiny bit of Flitz on a Q-tip removed these with no change to the finish. The Tracker 4" 357 is a great sized little gun with good looks - shoots very well - and still has enough weight to keep recoil under control. Between the ports and the ribber grips recoil is fine. The ports take a little getting used to but I don't mind them. I have noticed no quality issues with any of my Taurus guns with the exception that my Tracker 17 came w/o a firing pin spring? Called Taurus and they put one in the mail. Don't know how this one got out of the factory?
