dones anyone know the fix for a NEF .243 that does not lock up all the time and unlocks when fired?

Hi, and welcome.  Read the FAQs.  It sounds like there isn't enough latch shelf engagement.  Smoke it with a match or candle or dust it with chalkline powder and see how much it engages.  If not enough, touch the latch shelf on the barrel with a light file until it latches up firmly.  It's all there in the FAQs.  Pete

Are you shooting factory ammo or handloads? I had problems with mine with handloads until I adjusted my F.L. Resizer correctly. If shooting factory ammo, definitely check the latch.
