Here's positive thinking about hunting season...we are sitting here waiting for the hardware store to deliver a freezer.
I was talking to my Son over the weekend and he was telling me about hunting back in Maryland. He has already taken his two does and now he can shoot a buck. He told he forgot all the little details that go with taking a deer; things like having a place to hang the deer...made me think, I haven't got a place set up to hang a deer.
In the past I had a shop with a 10 foot ceiling. I built a pully system to raise the deer up to skin and hang. I built a simple double block system with rope and used brute force to pull the deer up. I don't have that set-up here.
Now that I am retired and a senior citizen I am going to have work smarter. The shop I have now has a lower ceiling. I think I will cut an acess panel in the ceiling and build a hanger in the attic. Harbor Freight has an 880 lb electric hoist that should work just fine. I can still pull a deer up with a block and tackle now, but in less than 10 years I will be 70, will I still be able to the that deer up then?
