Why I Carry a Gun.

Why I Carry a Gun

PEOPLE ASK WHY??

My old grandpa said to me son,' there comes a time in every mans life
when he stops bustin' knuckles and starts bustin' caps and usually it's
when he becomes too old to take an ass whoopin'.
I don't carry a gun to kill people.
I carry a gun to keep from being killed.

I don't carry a gun to scare people.
I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.

I don't carry a gun because I'm paranoid.
I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.

I don't carry a gun because I'm evil.
I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the
world.

I don't carry a gun because I hate the government.
I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.

I don't carry a gun because I'm angry.

I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating
myself for failing to be prepared.

I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone.
I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and
not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.

I don't carry a gun because I'm a cowboy.
I carry a gun because, when I die and go to heaven, I want to be a
cowboy.

I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man.
I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the
ones they love.

I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate.
I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am
inadequate.

I don't carry a gun because I love it.
I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful
to me.

Police Protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves.
Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the
crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to
take an ass whoopin'.

Lots of truth here..........I am pushing on 70 years old very hard, I still consider myself to be in fairly good shape for an "old fart," but too old to engauge in fistacuffs.  Tho that has not always been the case, at some point I found it takes too long to heal after an injury, and the hurt sometimes lingers after the healing process is complete.  A while back I had a young man jump me while attempting to break up a fight. he turned on me and said, "I'm gonna kick somebody's butt, and it might as well be yours."  He took a swing at me, I stepped back and he hit me on the right arm, he took another swing and hit me on the left side of my face and neck, he then fell back against a pickup and didn't move.....there was a little .40 stuck up his nose, his lip was bleeding, and all the fight was gone.  In the process of sticking the gun up his nose I broke one of his front teeth off at the gum line.  He call the police, when they arrived they were about to take me to jail until one of the cops seen the big bruise on my neck and face, and determined that I was only defending myself.  He went to jail.

What this amounted to was an attitude adjustment for a smart mouth punk that thinks he can throw his weight around at will.  Today he will tell you, "Don't mess with that old man, he might shoot you!"

People that say we don't need guns in our society never hear stories like this. They don't get reported in the news. I live in a part of the country and live a lifestyle that I don't ever feel threatened, but I defend the right of some small woman who does live in a rough neighborhood to take care of herself.

You all are in for some bad times. However if the the above story with almost getting arrested and put into jail protecting yoursel was to play in Canada. you, the victim, would have so many charges against you that they would need a handcart to roll in the paperwork.

I give you just a little example what can happen so you can prepare yourselves if the Dems get in all the places they want.
A Canadian goes off to Florida for the winter. He is properly licensed to possess firearms and he has a wall safe in his house. I am talking about something very much better then a Wally Mart sheet steel 150 bucks locker. The safe is fully enclosed by three walls.
He gets a call from the RCMP that his house has been burglarized and he needs to go back. On his return he finds out that thieves busted thru a wall to get to his safe and removed the safe with a forklift truck.

Now comes the kicker. He is charged with unsafe storage of firearms and it takes him 3 years to get back his stuff after it was found and the charges are dropped.
What is the point of Life if you can't have fun.

I carry a gun so i wont be in the position my brother in law found himself in, On arriving home there was a truck in his drive way and he parked behind it , a man came out of his house and demanded that he move his truck so they could get out after stealing his stuff, the second man came out armed and b.i.l. moved his truck so they could drive off with his stuff, he got the number of the stolen plate they were running .

I carry a gun to prevent my home from becoming another Waco or Ruby Ridge.   All the other reasons are BS, just like the smokescreen Obama's dedication to hunting.
