need some one to repair a model 88 win and a 100 win.
« on: December 07, 2008, 10:27:07 AM »
I've got this 1956 model 88 win in .308. It shoots fine and is accurate. But, while it extracts cases after firing they just barely fall out of the the action. I've had it to two smiths both said it was ok. I don"t believe it ! others I have owned have throwen cases out smartly. Who can I send it too that knows what they are doing and can repair it.
Also have a 100 that shoots well but after 3 gunsmiths it will not eject a fired case and feed the next round. This is a great looking rifle and I want it to work properly. Who can I send it to ?
Many thanks, and happy HO HO to all.

The Model 100 has 2 ejector springs.

In the 1970s a hunting buddy did not thoroughly dry and lubricate the rifle after a wet hunting season. One of the ejector springs rusted to the point of being ineffective. He had the same problem you describe as the rifle needs TWO ejector springs to function properly.
Good luck.

Country Boy I can fix your win 88.  But it might take 10 or 30 years.  ;D

Owen where do you live ? I like to see this rifle get more field time than I give it now. In 10 or 20 yrs I will be dead so you get a free rifle.
