How do you remove the trigger assembly from an Encore?

I went to the range today and fired numerous shots using T7. When I pulled the breech plug out it was caked with powder residue. Due to blowback, some of the residue was located in the trigger assembly. Can somebody give me the step-by-step process of removing the trigger assembly (to clean)?

What kind of primers were you using? I had that problem with the Winchester T7 primers. I went back to the Remington Kleen Bore primers and the blow by went away. I never had that problem with the Federal 209A's either.

I disasembled my frame once.  It was easy coming apart.  Not too easy going back together.  It is doable looking at the pictures in your owners manual and if you have a digital camera take lots of pictures you can reference on the reassemble.  But honestly I would use something like "powder Blast" or soak it in hot water and try and brush out the gunk then dry on low temp in the oven.  Disassembling and reassembling the trigger every time you use the gun would be such an incredible pain it is not worth it IMHO.

Thanks guys for the comments......I had a feeling it was the T7 primers. While at the range, they called a cease fire and I was in the middle of loading the muzzleloader. To make a long story short, I forgot to put the load and sabot in the gun and fired just the T7 primer. I immediately cleaned it and found that the barrel was really fouled! I'm going today to get Federal or Remington primers to test. How much of a difference in accuracy does a change in primers make? I guess I'm going to find out......and I will report my findings.

BTW, I soaked the trigger assembly area with hot soapy water and then use a hair dryer to evaporate any residual water. I then lightly applied a silicone based product to the area as best I could without spraying it in. That did the trick....I checked the trigger assembly area the next day and found no rust deposits.

I was using the Winny T7's also, couldn't believe the black soot being produced. Good to know there are alternatives! Thanks guys               lp
